Donaldson BOFA pre-filter designed for use with AD250 and AD350 laser fume extraction systems.

The pre-filter serves as the first stage of the filtration process and is housed in a rigid cardboard frame. Its 95 mm depth provides a larger surface area, ensuring 95 % retention efficiency for particles of 0.9 µm.

This pre-filter is designed to capture larger particles present in the fumes during the initial stage of the process, significantly extending the service life of the HEPA/Activated Carbon filter used in the subsequent filtration stage.

Maintenance and Replacement

The replacement frequency of the pre-filter depends directly on the application in which the extraction system is used. As a guideline, it is recommended to replace all operating filters (pre-filter and combined filter) annually, or whenever the system indicates a blockage via the status display or warning LEDs.

Note: This recommendation is for guidance only, as the filter’s service life may vary significantly depending on the type and intensity of use.

When replacing used filters, proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn. Disposal should follow local regulations for handling contaminated waste.
